Grooming is a process of targeting a child and engaging him or her for the purpose of sexual activity.
Grooming is a deliberate process used by perpetrators to gain gradual access to a child, with the ultimate goal of engaging in sexual activity. It is designed to lower the child’s defenses, build trust, and reduce the chance of being caught—by the child, their family, or others. The perpetrator works to isolate the child, create emotional closeness, and ensure secrecy around the abuse.
At S.T.O.P. we believe that informing your child about
the signs of grooming will greatly decrease the chances of them being sexually assaulted. We want to help all families by giving a very easy to follow step
by step process in having the conversation and sexual
abuse prevention.impact in the community.
